EBS, a certified minority woman-owned business, was established by Carol Ann and William Hurley as a family home-based legacy and traditional telephone supply and service business in November 1985. After incorporating in June of 1987, EBS expanded the number of telecommunication products and services it offered to include advanced technology in communication systems, computer networking and video teleconferencing. Soon after winning a highly competitive state videoconferencing contract (over rivals Panasonic, Sony, Lucent Technologies, AT&T, and Picture-Tel) by demonstrating its superior products and system configuration capabilities, EBS implemented a global network videoconferencing system for a major bio-technology firm. EBS has expanded its products to include both traditional telephony systems and the latest Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems.
Due to an unwavering commitment to the best quality products and service, EBS has since become one of the largest independent telecommunications companies in Rhode Island. With up-to-date technology and reliable service available 24/7, EBS expanded from its small Rhode Island business customer base to include Rhode Island’s largest corporations. EBS now offers services to local, regional, national and international customers in both the private and public sector, including retail companies, manufacturers, banks, private schools, governments (municipal and state agencies, courts) and private and public health care facilities, etc.
In keeping with our commitment to provide our customers with the latest trends in technology, EBS added Videoconferencing to its product roster in 1997. The applications designed by EBS provide our customers the opportunities to take full advantage of technology.
